Sky App Windows Aero Theme

I've been using sky go for years - without an aero theme - i actively do NOT want to change my windows 7 set up to an aero theme. Updated to latest version of sky go - because it does not load until I do - and then boom, it fails and blames aero. Come on Sky sort this out !

Sky didn't have much choice - most modern development frameworks require Aero support, so Sky either had to use old technology or have issues with the very small number of Windows 7 users who don't use Aero themes. Oh and Sky Go is free for any Sky customer, whether they've been with them 1 year or 20. It's Sky Go Extra which is a VIP benefit.

It works for me on Windows 7 with an aero theme. I would try one of the default themes or maybe check for GPU driver updates.

After a lot of research I realised sky go minimum spec is: that it says windows 7 with aero theme enabled or higher windows 10 does not have aero which is where I think the issue is. I know it's a bit of work and not everyone knows how to do it but i just partitioned my hard drive and installed windows 7 last night did all the up to date.

I would close the app, change to the basic theme, change back to an aero theme and then try the app again.

Ich habe seit Ende November die SKY Go App auf meinem Laptop genutzt. Vor ein paar Tagen hat diese App nun beim starten ein Update durchgeführt und nun funktioniert sie nicht mehr. Es kommt imer folgende Fehlermeldung: theme incompatible A Windows Aero theme ist required for this app to work correct...

I've fixed this issue by loading the Aero Theme on Windows 10 👍 Once loaded the SkyGo app works. Infuriatingly I called Sky a few days ago and logged the issue and they said they'd never heard of this issue and that someone would call me straight back. Of course, I've never heard a thing back from them...
