COVIDSafe app has been developed by the Australian Government Department of Health to help keep the community safe from coronavirus (COVID-19). Together, let’s help stop the spread and keep ourselves and each other healthy. COVIDSafe uses the Bluetooth® technology on your mobile phone to look for other devices with COVIDSafe installed.

You can use the Australian Government Coronavirus app to: - stay up to date with the official information and advice - important health advice to help stop the spread and stay healthy - get a quick snapshot of the current official status within Australia - check your symptoms if you are concerned about yourself or someone else - find relevant contact information - access updated information.

The app will store 21 days of data of people you have come into contact with, and the data will be held on your phone in that time. It is only uploaded to a government server, housed in Australia.

Australia’s coronavirus tracing app Covidsafe has been downloaded more than 5.5m times on iPhone and Android phones. The Australian government says the Covid safe tracking app won’t be.

Coronavirus Australia: COVIDSafe app now online to trace virus contacts. COVID-19. Using Bluetooth, the app traces prolonged contact of other users within range for 21 days allowing health.

If anyone using the app tests positive to COVID-19, they would be asked to download their encrypted contact log and send it to the Government, which will store it in a central server in Australia.
